Second Chef wanted to join the team at this busy food lead country pub a short drive from Winchester. A fantastic country pub that is part of a leading regional brewery with a great family feel and focus on great food.
The menu is a modern version of great pub food, with a twist. All food is made fresh on site, promoting the use of local suppliers and producers. The menu is core company dishes, with individual daily specials and event menus, all changing on a seasonal basis.
As Second Chef you will be number two, deputising for the Head Chef, so will be actively involved in all areas of kitchen management. You will help in team training and development along with day to day supervision. You will control stock levels, orders and rotation. You will adhere to all legislation and company standards. You will ensure consistently high standards in terms of food quality and service.
Candidates must have previous experience as a second or sous chef, with solid cooking skills along with good understanding of kitchen management. You will have proven skills in working in a fresh food operation, being competent in cooking from scratch.
The role will be a mix of straight and split shifts. Due to location it will be essential to have your own transport. Salary is up to 27k depending on experience and ability.
Full eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
