Hesketh James Recruitment are working in partnership with a national market leader within the construction sector to recruit for an Internal Recruitment Consultant. 

This role has prime responsibility for delivering a cost-effective internal attraction, sourcing and selection service across the company.

This is a dynamic role with the rare opportunity to take ownership of the company’s internal recruitment function, from resourcing to salary benchmarking, to implementing a talent acquisition strategy for the entire company. The Recruitment Consultant will recruit for a wide variety of roles, at various levels.

The role will also be responsible for supporting key internal stakeholders through providing a quality service and enhancing the sourcing and selection capability of hiring managers through education and coaching. As well as managing external stakeholders, through ensuring agency suppliers provide an effective and efficient service to support the recruitment function. 

The Internal Recruitment Consultant will be required to produce weekly and monthly Management Information to produce recommendations and solutions to further strengthen the recruitment process.

Person specification


  • Preferably Degree standard or equivalent
  • Preferably CIPD qualified or similar professional qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a recruitment environment – ideally internal

Skills/Abilities


  • Highly organised and methodical in approach
  • Ability to juggle a number of conflicting priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Resourceful at sourcing talent at all levels
  • Ability to define best practice and to manage stakeholders to deliver against it in line with strategic commercial targets.
  • Able to deliver an effective full service consistently whilst constantly striving to deliver improvements
  • Flexible, able to manage shifting priorities.
  • Team player with evidence of collaborative skills (within department and business and externally)
  • Ability to constructively challenge colleagues at all levels.
  • Presentation skills and Microsoft package competency
  • Commercially aware
  • Strong networker internally and externally
